TV prices in Uganda start at UGX 329,500 for a 32 inch and climb past UGX 20 million for an 85 inch QLED. I pulled every TV on yoola.ug this morning, 147 of them, and sorted the list by screen size. The surprises sit in the middle of the range.
The cheapest 32 inch and the most expensive 32 inch differ by UGX 624,500, and both show the same resolution. That gap is not picture quality. It is brand, software, and what the seller does when the set dies.

Here is the honest read. The Hisense at UGX 390,000 costs UGX 30,520 more than the CHiQ and UGX 60,500 more than the GlobalStar. What you get is a service bench in Kampala that stocks power boards. On the cheapest set, a dead power board often means a new TV.

50 inch TV prices in Uganda begin at UGX 1,022,200 and 55 inch starts at UGX 1,350,500. Going from the CHiQ 43 inch 4K to the CHiQ 50 inch 4K costs UGX 293,520. From that 50 inch to the CHiQ 55 inch costs another UGX 438,980.
At 50 inch, the CHiQ 4K at UGX 1,109,520 undercuts the Hisense 50A6 at UGX 1,159,550 by UGX 50,030. That is close enough that brand support should decide it. Hisense has more service points in Kampala.
At 55 inch the order flips. CHiQ sits at UGX 1,548,500 and the Hisense 55A6 at UGX 1,527,480, so Hisense is cheaper by UGX 21,020. Prices move between sizes with these two brands, so no fixed "brand X is cheapest" rule holds.
Buy this size only if the room allows it. A 55 inch set three metres from the sofa shows every compressed DStv channel as a smear. Measure with the TV size calculator, then come back to the price.

See the CHiQ 50 inchThe best TV deals in Uganda are almost never the biggest discount badge. They are sets where you pay the same panel price as a bigger brand and still get a Kampala repair option. Three rules find them faster than hours of comparing.
Buy the panel, not the badge. A 43 inch 4K panel from CHiQ and one from Samsung show the same resolution. The UGX 876,500 gap buys software and resale value, not pixels. Keep a TV eight years and resale value is worth nothing because you never sell it.
Skip smart on small screens. A 32 inch smart costs at least UGX 486,000 against UGX 329,500 for a digital set. That is UGX 156,500 for apps you can get from an Android box, and the box can be replaced when it slows down. The TV cannot.
Add the stabiliser before you compare. Uganda's supply spikes and dips, and the power board dies first. Budget UGX 60,000 to UGX 150,000, as covered in our TV brands guide. A UGX 329,500 set without protection costs more over five years than a UGX 390,000 set with it.
Running cost is the last figure to know. UEDCL charges UGX 779.4 per unit for domestic use between 16 and 80 units, per the Q4 2026 schedule ERA published on 1 October 2026. Confirm the box is sealed and the serial on the carton matches the serial on the set. Ask where the repair happens, not whether a warranty exists. Then test the panel with a plain white screen. Dead pixels and edge light bleed are obvious on white and invisible on a bright demo reel.
