Real 2026 prices for all 21 Samsung fridges and freezers at Yoola, from a 260L stabiliser model to a 602L water and ice side by side.
Samsung refrigerator prices in Uganda start at UGX 1,700,800 for a 260L stabiliser model and climb to UGX 9,726,000 for a 602L side by side with a water and ice dispenser. That is a spread of over UGX 8 million across one brand, so the useful question is not how much a Samsung fridge costs but which rung of the Samsung ladder you actually need. Here is the full ladder, priced from the live Yoola catalogue in October 2026.
A Samsung fridge in Uganda costs between UGX 1,700,800 and UGX 9,726,000 depending on capacity and door type. The entry point is a 260L stabiliser Coolpack single door; the top is a 602L SpaceMax side by side with water and ice. Most Kampala homes settle between UGX 2.5 million and UGX 4.7 million, which buys a 300L to 583L model with either SpaceMax cooling or SmartThings Wi-Fi.
The price moves with three things: litres, door type, and whether the model carries an inverter compressor and a Wi-Fi board. Two fridges with the same litres can differ by a million shillings if one has a digital inverter and a SmartThings board and the other does not. Every figure below is from a live scrape of product prices on yoola.ug, taken in October 2026.

Samsung sits at the premium end because of what is inside the cabinet, not the badge. The two features that explain most of the gap against a Hisense or CHiQ are the digital inverter compressor and, on the higher rungs, the SmartThings Wi-Fi board and SpaceMax insulation. The inverter runs the motor at variable speed instead of switching on and off, which cuts running cost and is why Samsung backs it with a 20-year compressor warranty on models like the 305L SpaceMax.
SpaceMax uses thinner cabinet walls to fit more litres into the same footprint. A 348L SpaceMax takes roughly the floor space of an older 300L cabinet, which matters where the fridge sits in a fixed gap.
Priced like for like, a Samsung 465L SpaceMax at UGX 3,685,600 sits against a CHiQ 451L no-frost at UGX 1,625,000. That is UGX 2,060,600 more for 14 extra litres. At that gap you are not paying for litres; you are paying for the inverter, the build, and the resale. If litres per shilling is your only measure, the cheaper brands win by a wide margin, and we will say so plainly.
For most Ugandan homes the Samsung premium pays off on two conditions: you keep the fridge five years or more, and you value a low running cost plus local spare-part availability. If either is not true, a CHiQ or Hisense at half the price covers the same job. The case is strongest in the mid-ladder, where price per litre drops sharply.
Watch the jumps inside the ladder. Going from the 260L stabiliser at UGX 1,700,800 to the 280L Cool Pack at UGX 2,126,400 costs UGX 21,280 for every extra litre. That is expensive capacity. Stepping from the 305L SpaceMax at UGX 2,540,400 to the 348L SpaceMax at UGX 2,817,000 costs only UGX 6,433 per extra litre: 43 more litres for UGX 276,600. The mid-ladder SpaceMax step is more than three times better value per litre than the entry-level step.
The rule that falls out of the numbers: buy the smallest Samsung that fits your family, then jump straight to a SpaceMax model rather than creeping up one capacity band at a time. The one-band creep is where the money leaks.
Samsung side by side and multi-door fridges in Uganda run from UGX 4,077,500 for a 528L non-plumbing dispenser model to UGX 9,726,000 for a 602L SpaceMax with a water and ice dispenser. The jump to water and ice is steep: the two ice-maker models are the only Samsung fridges above UGX 9 million, while every other door type stays under UGX 5.5 million.
Compare across brands before you commit. A Samsung 583L SmartThings at UGX 4,656,000 faces a CHiQ 680L side by side at UGX 2,808,400. The CHiQ is 97 litres bigger and UGX 1,847,600 cheaper. A large family that mainly wants shelf space should look at it before defaulting to Samsung.
Where Samsung holds its ground in this class is the plumbing-free dispenser. If your kitchen has no water line, the 528L RT53 at UGX 4,077,500 gives you a dispenser without a plumber, which several cheaper side by sides cannot.
A Samsung inverter fridge uses less power than an old single-speed model, but the saving depends on your tariff tier. On the current UEDCL domestic schedule, the first 15 units each month cost UGX 250, units 16 to 80 cost UGX 779.4, units 81 to 150 cost UGX 412, and anything above 150 units costs UGX 779.4 again.
Run a 150W fridge for eight hours a day and you use about 36 units a month. In the 16-to-80 band that is roughly UGX 28,000 a month. A larger side by side drawing nearer 300W lands around 72 units and about UGX 56,000. Over five years the gap passes UGX 1.68 million, real money but still smaller than the price difference between the two models. The purchase is the bigger decision; running cost is the long shadow behind it.
The practical Ugandan point is voltage, not watts. Kampala's supply swings enough that the inverter compressor earns its keep by tolerating short brownouts that would trip a cheap motor. If your area sees frequent dips, pair any fridge with a voltage stabiliser rather than blaming the fridge when the control board fails.
Buy Samsung fridges in Uganda from a seller that carries genuine stock with a warranty and delivers across Kampala. Grey-market imports without a local warranty are the main trap: a fridge that saves UGX 200,000 up front can cost more than that when a compressor fails and there is no one to honour the cover.
